Sylvia had her six week appointment on July 11. She was actually seven weeks old then. She weighed 13 lbs and 8 oz. She is in the 94th percentile for babies her age. She is 23.5 inches long. She’s going to be tall like her daddy.
She did so well at the appointment. We stripped her down to her diaper, and she just laid there, smiling on the table. Dr. Morris came in, and she just looked up at him with her big blue eyes. She was so happy, until she realized she was just stabbed in the leg!
She only had one shot, and she only cried for about a minute. Then she was happy again.
Some of the questions we discussed with the doctor were about her feeding schedule, formula namebrands, and the blue veins on her legs. He said she needs to eat more in order to stretch out the times in between feedings. He also said that all formulas are created equal, so we can safely switch to Target brand. He also filled us in on some interesting facts from the past. He gave us the history of formulas and how they used to be unregulated and dangerous to babies. Now that they have perfected (we hope) the make-up of formula, they know what they’re doing when it comes to baby nutrition. They must…look how chunky Sylvia is getting on formula alone! I call her McChunky, my Chunky Monkey, and McChunkster. I can’t wait to see what she looks like in three months.
